Reflections on the Exciting Hutchwilco Boat Show 2024

After an exhilarating four days at the Hutchwilco Boat Show 2024, with early talk about recession and a slow market unexpectedly I found myself reflecting on the whirlwind of activity, innovation, and camaraderie that filled the event. Nestled amidst the bustling crowd, I was privileged to be stationed at the Suzuki Marine NZ stand, where the pulse of the marine world throbbed with enthusiasm.

The morning foot traffic was relentless, a testament to the enduring allure of the boating fraternity. Amidst the sea of enthusiasts, I enjoyed being amongst the array of Suzuki outboard motors on display, ranging from the compact DF2.5 to the powerhouse DF350 duo prop. It was evident that Suzuki Marine NZ had firmly entrenched itself, its presence felt across various stands—a testament to its growth in market share over the last few years.

Amidst the whirlwind of activity, I managed to steal moments away from the Suzuki stand and explore the treasures the show had to offer. Among my standout picks was the Kiwi Craft 535 walkthrough cuddy cabin, a marvel of aluminum craftsmanship perfectly paired with a Suzuki 90hp outboard. Equally impressive was the Challenger 650 SE, a fiberglass beauty harmonizing cabin size to deck space well, powered with the Suzuki DF200 in black. These boats had the same solid fold-down bimini canopies that were super strong and easy to use!

While exploring products and innovations, BLA's interactive steering and winch display captivated visitors. Offering a glimpse into the future, maybe their boat too could be fitted with these quality products.

At Dinghys and Outboards, we can offer these exceptional products. Full turn-key packages or custom fit-outs, or could we retrofit innovative new products, tailoring them to meet the unique needs of our customers? Whether it's outfitting a vessel with Suzuki outboards or integrating cutting-edge accessories, we're dedicated to delivering excellence.

However, amidst the jubilation, a shadow was cast upon us on Saturday as we received heartbreaking news—the passing of Simon Meade from Suzuki NZ. Simon's tragic accident en route to the 2024 Hutchwilco Boat Show left us reeling, a poignant reminder of life's fragility amidst the excitement of the marine world.

As we bid adieu to another remarkable Hutchwilco Boat Show, I carry with me memories of camaraderie, innovation, and the enduring spirit of the marine community.
